GREENSBORO – Francine McCain, 58, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital.

She was born on February 8, 1963 in Guilford County, NC to Wilbert McCain and Mary Frances Simpson McCain.

She was educated in the local public schools and graduated from Grimsley High School.

For many years she worked in the food service industry as a caterer.

Francine was a lover of life and loved people.  She often participated in community service work and interacting with the homeless.  In her spare time, she loved singing and making baskets.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Sheila Simpson, Roger “Pete” McCain and Jerry McCain.

Survivors include children, Antwane McCain, Ansonja McCain and Daquane Middleton; 6 grandchildren, Delarein McCain, Dillion McCain, Antonio McCain, Siyun McCain, Nazman McCain and Senye McCain; 3 great-grandchildren, Karter McCain, Jahari Ingram and A’Mari Shaw; siblings, Sarah Ann Alexander, Wilbert McCain, Jr., Charles “Poochie” McCain, Kenny McCain (Terri), Haywood McCain (Sarah), Randy McCain, Lavon McCain, Pamela James (Mike), Odell Boyd (Zena), Michael Boyd (Brenda) and Chris Boyd (Emily); a host of relatives and friends.

Public viewing will begin on Friday, July 30, 2021 from 12 noon until 6 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 31, 2021 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Road, Greensboro, NC.  Pastor Linda Rankin will deliver the words of comfort.
