GREENSBORO - Wilbur Windell Dick, 73, passed away January 2, 2024.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1 p.m. at Wadsworth Congregational Church, 1301 Rock Creek Dairy Road, Whitsett, NC. The family visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m.
Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.
Wilbur Windell Dick, known to most as “Little Babe,” was born in Gibsonville, NC on October 14, 1950, to the late Steve Flaveous Dick and Priscilla Foust Dick.
He attended Wadsworth Congregational Church in Whitsett, NC, where he attended in his early years and on occasions in his later years.
Wilbur attended Sedalia School in Sedalia, NC and later earned a GED. In 1961, he joined the United States Army where he served until 1975. He fought in the Vietnam War where he was wounded causing him to spend several months in a military hospital in Louisiana before returning home.
Wilbur was employed at Cablevision of Greensboro for several years. He also worked as a Security Guard for multiple food chain stores.
Wilbur was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Monk Dick; three brothers, Andrew Foust, Flaveous Dick and Ernest Dick; two sisters, Clara Mitchell, and Susan B. Dick.
He leaves to mourn his memories, four sisters, Mamie Long, Carolyn Dick, Hattie McCrimmon, and Irene Marshall (Malford), all of Greensboro, NC, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
