Walter Brown Obituary

GREENSBORO - Walter Alexander Brown, 81 was born on December 26, 1941 in Plainfield, NJ to the late Edna E. Brown. He was the eldest of her four children.

Walter was a true family man and always enjoyed being with his beloved wife, Elizabeth, of whom he called "Suges" and with the rest of his family. He was an avid NY Giants and Boston Celtics fan. He loved to dance, go on family vacations and have fun but most of all he loved the Lord and was a faithful member at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Plainfield, NJ and upon his move to High Point, NC became a faithful member at New Light Missionary Baptist Church until his death. Walter attended Plainfield Public Schools and graduated in June 1961. After High School he enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served three years. He worked in manufacturing upon his return from the Army until he found his niche as the Head Custodian for the Scotch Plains/Fanwood Board of Education in Scotch Plains, NJ. After retirement he relocated to High Point, NC.

Walter departed this life on November 1, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Elizabeth Brown of High Point, NC. One son, Ronald Carter and one daughter, Tracy Harden both of High Point, NC. Seven grandchildren, Sharonda Boston of Piscataway, NJ and Rahmode Boston (Deja) of Greensboro, NC; Ronald, Rashida and Shauna Carter all of Plainfield, NJ; Javon Washington (Jessica) of McLeansville, NC and Janae Washington of Jamestown, NC as well as six great grandchildren. One brother, Hugh Brown (Elaine) of Somerset, NJ; two sisters, Darlene Brown of Fayetteville, NC and Debra Burgess (Earl) of Griffin, GA. One Brother-in-law, Aubrey Carter, Jr.(Debbie) of Berkley Heights, NJ. He was also a big brother to his two cousins, Henry Turley, Jr. (Genie) of Avenel, NJ and Ramon Turley (Crystal) of South Plainfield, NJ and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
