GREENSBORO – Tony Alphonso Ash, 64, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at his residence.
He was born in Orange County, California on March 17, 1957 to Willie F. Ash and Frankie Mae Torrence Ash.
Tony was employed with the city for many years as a bus driver before his retirement.
Tony loved music, singing and dancing. He enjoyed comics and was a huge “Star Trek” fan. He loved sports especially Tennis and Golf. In his spare time, he also loved watching Jeopardy.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alesia Hardy Ash; brother-in-law, Robert Futchins.
Survivors include children, Tyrelle Ash, Tanasha Fuller (Kevin), Darien Waters, Londric Davenport, Eric Ash, Brittany Ash and Lavender Ash; mother, Frankie Mae Ash; grandchildren, Ariana Fuller, Bryson Ash, Joseph Fuller, Tyree Ash, Eric Ash, Jr., Kylie Ash, Ariel Ash and Lexington Davenport; sisters, Sharolyn Griggs, Sonia Ash, Cynthia Ash, Felecia Ash; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A public viewing and family visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Road, Greensboro, NC.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Ferrara Colonial Mortuary, 351 N. Hewes Street, Orange, CA.
Interment will follow at 1 p.m. in Santa Ana Cemetery, 1919 E. Santa Clara Avenue, Santa Ana, CA.
