Theresa (Alston) Collins

GREENSBORO - Theresa A. Collins, 82, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 2 p.m. at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Road, Greensboro, NC. The family visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Reverend Dr. Cardes H. Brown, Jr. will deliver the words of comfort.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3901 Forest Lawn Drive, Greensboro, NC.

Public viewing will begin on Monday from 12 until 5 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.

Theresa was born in Guilford County on December 31, 1939 to Matthew and Pearlie Mae Smith Alston.

Theresa loved her family, church family and dining club friends at McDonald's on Randleman Road. she was  a faithful and longtime member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church where she sang in the Mass Choir.

She attended James B. Dudley High School. She formerly worked at Chi Chi's, Twinning's Tea Company and Guilford College where she retired.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Roosevelt and Clayton Alston.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories children, Monica Wright, Michael Suber (Rita), Marcia Suber, Larry Suber (Charlotte), Tamarrah Rhoda (Rickie), Kimberly Chandra (Kailash Jr.), Andre Suber and Brandon Suber. A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.
