GREENSBORO - Ricky Lee Alston, 63, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024 at Wesley Long Hospital.
Public viewing will begin on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 12 until 5 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.
A celebration of life service will be held Friday, May 24, 2024 at 11 a.m. at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Road, Greensboro, NC. The family visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Dr. Cardes H. Brown Jr., will deliver the words of comfort.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greensboro, NC.

Ricky Lee Alston departed his earthly home to rest in heaven on Thursday, May 16, 2024. He was born May 13th, 1961, in Littleton, North Carolina. Ricky resided in Greensboro, NC with his loving wife, Sylvia, until he passed away.
Ricky and Sylvia were wed in lasting matrimony on December 22, 1986.
Ricky was a resilient, hardworking, and caring man of Christian faith who loved watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys, trips to Carolina Beach, caring for his animals (Denali, ChiChi and Fendi), dancing at family functions and grilling in his backyard for family. A blessing to all who knew him, Ricky’s authenticity, dutiful nature, and acts of service will never be forgotten. The immediate family of Ricky would like to thank everyone for their acts of kindness shown during this difficult time.
Preceding his passing and rejoicing in heaven: (father) John Alston, (mother) Mary Alston, (brothers) Jerry Louis Alston, Luke Alston, George Alston and (sisters) Brenda Alston and Votia Alston.
Ricky leaves many relatives to cherish his memory: devoted wife Sylvia Tucker Alston; daughter Rickecia Marie Alston and son Brandon McRae; brother, Ernest Alston; sisters, Mary Patterson, Erma Alston, Almeta Alston, and Aronita Hunt (Ronnie), aunt, Rosalee Glover; brother in laws, Terrance Tucker (Kimberly Henryhand), Reginald Louis Tucker, Billy Rae Tucker Jr. (Rhonda); sister in laws, Jane Alston and Lolita Crite all of Greensboro, NC; a host nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and his work family at O’Reilly Auto Parts.
