GREENSBORO – Rayde McKinnon, 79, passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.  The family visitation and viewing will begin at 11 a.m.

Rayde was born in Rock Hill, SC on March 31, 1942 to Fred McKinnon and Allbree McKinnon.

He was a resident of Newark, NJ for forty-seven years.  He resided in Greensboro, NC for the last twelve years.

Rayde retired from Budweiser in New Jersey.  He loved watching baseball and football games but cooking and being outdoors was his favorite pastime.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian G. McKinnon, both parents, and his sister, Brenda Alston.

Rayde leaves behind two sons, Reginald McKinnon of Japan and Terrice McKinnon of Greensboro, NC; one daughter Sherida McKinnon of High Point, NC; sister, Frances McKinnon; two brothers, Charles McKinnon and Donald McKinnon (Joanie); stepchildren, Mary Walker and Clarence Walker of New Jersey; a niece and nephew; six grandchildren; a devoted friend, Karen Johnson; a host of other family members and friends.
