Nigel "Scooter" Lafonzo Bell

GREENSBORO – Nigel “Scooter” Lafonzo Bell, 39, passed away April 23, 2023 in Charlotte, NC.

A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at Power House of Deliverance Garden Cathedral, 1800 Willow Road, Greensboro, NC. The family visitation and viewing will begin at 11 a.m. Bishop Delores N. Duren will officiate and Bishop W.L. Washington will deliver the words of comfort.

Interment will follow in Proximity Mills Cemetery, 2009 Phillips Avenue, Greensboro, NC.

Nigel was born on March 2, 1984 in Greensboro, NC to Joyce Bel and Alfonzo (Red) Walls. 

Nigel was educated in the local public schools and attended Southern Guilford and James B. Dudley High Schools.

Nigel worked in the landscaping industry.

Nigel leaves to cherish fond memories: his mother, Joyce Bell; father and step-mother, Deacon Alfonzo Walls and Minister Lillie Mae Walls; children, Nitza Renee’, Lamont NaQuan, Nassir LaFonzo, Naysa Leala, Nissym Latif, Julian Emir; brothers, Steven Bell, Shelton Phelps and Marquis Bell; step-sister, Tameka Jennings; grandparents, Bertha Bell and John Bell; uncles, Howard Walls, Alonzo Bell, John Bell, Leon Bell, Kendall Bell and Christopher Bell; aunts, Bertha Burns, Mary Jane Bell and Monika Battle; great-aunts, Beatrice Crandell, Mary Hymes, Carolyn Ebron, Doris Wolfe and Hattie Huntley; a host is nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Nigel was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nellie Walls and Alfonzo Walls, Sr., aunt, Christina Bell.
