GREENSBORO – Michael “Smoove” Antwon Hemphill, 46, passed away Monday, January 31, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Road, Greensboro, NC. The family visitation and viewing will begin at 1 p.m. Reverend Joe Louis Lee will deliver the eulogy.

He was born in Chester County, SC on May 4, 1975 to Ralph Wilmore and Diane Hemphill.
He was a diehard Miami Dolphins fan and also loved basketball and baseball.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Leon T. Wyckoff; aunts and uncles, Robert Good-Hemphill, James Good-Hemphill, William Good, William Randolph Hemphill, Ethel Hemphill and Christine Hall.
Survivors include mother, Diane Wyckoff; father, Ralph Wilmore; sons, Michael Hemphill, Jr., and Nazir Hemphill-Brown; siblings, Steven Hemphill, Sr. (TiNesha) of Hampton, NJ, Farrakan Hemphill (Tracey), Asmar Hemphill and Quadyr Hemphill and Rhonda Hemphill (Ardean) all of Greensboro, NC, Belinda Potts and Sheila Scott (William) all of Newark, NJ, Denice Howard (Ruby) of Linden, NJ, Kim Langley, Dewayne Tisdeal of VA; aunts and uncles, Curtis Sammy Hemphill, Jannie Mae Evans of Great Falls, SC, Rosie Perry of Lancaster, SC, Wendell Wilmore, Ray Wilmore, Mary Alice Woodard (Bobby), Carol Bertha Wilmore all Chester, SC; god-mothers, Sonya Edwards of Alabama, Judy Clark of Atlanta and Darlene Currie of Washington; a host of relatives and friends.
