It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved member of our community, Lt. Col. William R. Tate, who departed this world on January 5, 2024. Born on November 4, 1942, he leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories.

Public viewing Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 12 until 5 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Lt. Col. William R. Tate will be held on January 14, 2024, at the United Holy Church of America, 5104 Dunstan Road, Greensboro, NC. The visitation will commence at 12:30 p.m., offering family and friends the opportunity to come together to honor and remember a life well-lived. The service will follow at 1 p.m.

Entombment with military honors will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 North O’Henry Blvd., Greensboro, NC.
