John “Stevie” Sloan Obituary

SUMMERFIELD – On Monday February 6th Stevie became absent from his body to be present with the Lord. John “Stevie” Sloan was born on September 23, 1964 in Greensboro, NC to the late Joanne and Woody Sloan. He was a career electrician in which he was employed by Wrenn Electric, Starr Electric and ended his career with the IBEW local 342. He enjoyed to cruise on his Harley Davidson. Later he earned his name “Paw Paw”. His world revolved around Weston, Jace, Jaxon and Colton. Stevie was a funny, sweet, compassionate, and honest man with strong moral principles. He loved the Lord, had faith, beliefs and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior. Stevie was the youngest and what most would agree was the favorite of 6 children. He loved and was loved by all his siblings. He is predeceased in death by his Mother Joanne Fargis, step father Henry Fargis and Father Woody Sloan. Mother in law Elizabeth Greene 2 sisters: Belva Sapp and Teresa Wallace, 2 brothers: Kenneth Sloan and Rick Sloan. Furry best friend of 16 years his beagle Yuppie. He leaves behind his Companion of 34 years Lynn, daughters Casey Warf (Jason) and Allison Tilley (Joe), special niece Brittany Riley (Will) and sister Kim Taylor of Sneads Ferry NC.He also leaves behind his four best friends. Weston, Jace, Jaxon and Colton a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Philadelphia Baptist Chapel, 5515 N. Church Street, Greensboro, NC.

Interment will follow in Bethany United Methodist Church Cemetery, 316 Witty Road, Summerfield, NC.

Public viewing and family visitation Wednesday, February 8, 2022 from 6 until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.
