John William Pennix

GREENSBORO - John William Pennix, 70, departed his life peacefully on December 3, 2023 at Maple Gove Health & Rehabilitation Center.

A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.

John William Pennix was born on January 10, 1953, in Alamance County, NC to his parents, Lucille Watkins and Frank Whack, Jr.

For many years John was employed by multiple landscaping companies. John was a wonderful brother, father, grandfather, and uncle. He enjoyed family gatherings which always involved sitting around talking with plenty of laughter. He was dependable and was always there when you needed him.

John was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Corbett, and brothers, James Whack and Charles Whack.
John leaves to cherish his memories, his daughters, Tara Pennix-Smith, and Angela Stockton both of Greensboro, NC, brothers, Jackie Whack, John Watkins, Michael Watkins, and David Watkins. sister, Gloria Vaughn, nine grandchildren, one great-grandson, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
