Jessie Lucille Dick

Jessie Lucille Dick, 89,  formerly of Whitsett, NC transitioned in Brooklyn, NY on April 30, 2025. 

Public viewing will begin on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home & Cremations, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC. 

A homegoing celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 10, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Wadsworth Congregational Church, 1301 Rock Creek Dairy Road, Whitsett, NC. The family visitation will start at 12:00 noon,                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

Jessie was a graduate of Sedalia High School, and always remembered classmates and friends.  She also enjoyed spending time talking with Lonnie and asking questions about the Bible with Mary.  In addition, she was affiliated with the prayer partners on the Wednesday night New York Prayer Line.   She never missed a beat when asking about those great grandchildren.  When she was able, she enjoyed cooking and taking walks.   Jessie’s passion was making sure her family was acknowledged when it came to birthdays and holidays.  Even on the family zoom call, the family could feel and see her enthusiasm and love.   

She has two daughters: Gail Brown (Wayn) of Charlotte, NC, and her faithful daughter Frances Haynes of Brooklyn NY, who has always been by her side.  One grandson, J. Wayn Brown Jr. (Jessica) of Mooresville, NC.  Two great grandchildren: Samiya A.  Brown (Buffalo, NY) and Landon W. Brown (Mooresville, NC).  Two Siblings: Lonnie E. Dick, (Greensboro, NC) and Mary E. Dick (Whitsett, NC), and special family members Deborah Brown (Jacob),and  R.J. in addition to a host of cousins and friends.
