GREENSBORO - Helen Louise Askew, 86, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at WFB High Point Medical Center.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2 p.m. at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 1105 Willow Road, Greensboro, NC.

She was born in Northampton County, NC on December 23, 1935 to the late Lee Pierce and Jessie Stephenson Pierce.

In her spare time, she loved reading, baking and cooking.

For many years, she worked at Bendix Corp as an inspector.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Brian Askew; brothers, William Pierce, Sr., Herman Pierce and James Pierce; sisters, Eleanor Grant, Salonie Jolly and Rita Richardson.

Survivors include son, Derek Askew; brother, George Pierce; sister, Cora Evans; grandchildren, Anglecia Askew, Bithiah Askew, Jephuneaa Askew, Kristina Askew, Kimberly Askew and Kayla Askew; 5 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
