Joyce Hall Manaway was born May 1, 1948, in Guilford County to Alice Fogle and Robert Kellem. She was raised by her Grandma Essie Fogle due to the passing of her mother when Joyce was three years old. She always felt grateful to her Uncle Sam and Aunt Lucile for making sure she and her siblings had the best toys at Christmas time. She was so thankful to her cousins for sharing their parents, and giving up part of their Christmas to make sure all were happy during the holidays.

Joyce graduated high school in 1967 then worked at Elastic Fabrics Textile Mills Factory for many years. At the age of 55 she attended GTCC. She became a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant which enabled her to lovingly care for others. She also volunteered at Wesley Long Hospital Cancer Center. Through the years she was blessed to receive various certificates such as employee of the month, promoted from machine operator to lab technician, granddaughter's head start school, and several in ministry. Her best one was her born again certification from above.

Religion was her anchor in life. In the early years she attended Reynolds Chapel Baptist Church where she gained her spiritual knowledge. Later in life she joined St. Paul Baptist Church that was under the leadership of her uncle, Rev. Samuel Fogle, and served on the missionary board. In 2001 she became a member of Faith Worship Believers Church under the leadership of Bishop Sellers and wife Jean Sellers. After years of training, she became the mother of the church. She was licensed as a minister in 2004, then licensed as an Elder in 2009. She preached, taught new members class, taught Sunday school, worked with the usher board as well as the woman's group, trained new ministers, Bishop's armor bearer, worked in hospitality, and assisted with cleaning the church. She assisted in all and any area of the church that was possible. She loved her family and church family so much!

Survivors are 3 daughters, 1 son, 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grand son, 2 sisters, several cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended special sisters, brothers, sons, and daughters of the church.
