GREENSBORO - Daisy Boone, 95, passed away September 5, 2023.

Public viewing will begin Thursday, September 14, 2023 from 2 until 6 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.

Services are Friday, September 15, 2023 at  St. James Presbyterian Church, 820 Ross Avenue, Greensboro, NC.

11:30 a.m. - Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. 

12 p.m. - Public viewing / visitation

1 p.m. - Funeral service

3 p.m. - Interment in Lakeview Memorial Park

Services will stream live on the St. James Presbyterian Church, Greensboro, NC Facebook Page starting at 12:45 pm.

Daisy Daniels Boone was born on September 5,1928 in Pikeville, North Carolina to the late Floyd and Mary Jones.

Daisy was educated in the public schools in Goldsboro, North Carolina, graduating from Dillard High School then attending and graduating from NC A&T State University in Greensboro, North Carolina

Education was very important to Daisy as she extended her educational career in several endeavors of educational work.

She was active in her church community at St. James Presbyterian Church and was an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Husband, Douglas Boone of the home. Two daughters, Sheryl Meachem Mills & Ava Meachem Weaver, Charlotte, North Carolina. Stepson, Douglas Boone Jr. (Evelyn), Greensboro, North Carolina. Several loving grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Siblings: Floyd Daniels (Alice), Archie Daniels (Shirley) and Bobby Daniels (Joy).

Daisy also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Arrangements are by Walter Sanders Funeral & Cremation Services, Smithfield, NC.

Serenity Funeral Home & Cremations, Greensboro is assisting.
