GREENSBORO - Bobette Wharton Dick, age 83, of Greensboro, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026.
Bobette was born on October 8, 1942, in Sedalia, North Carolina, to the late Richard Wharton and Evelyn Wharton. She lived a long and meaningful life surrounded by family and friends who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Wharton; her mother, Evelyn Wharton; her sisters, Georgia Wharton and Cynthia Ziglar; and her brother, Ernest Wharton.
Bobette retired from Cleaners World after many years of dedicated work. In her free time, she enjoyed relaxing at home and watching her favorite television stories. She loved attending services at her church, Union Grove Congregational Church, where she was a faithful member and worked in the church kitchen. Bobette also had a special love for caring for children and enjoyed babysitting kids in her free time.
Bobette was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her son, Richard Wharton (Jerry); her grandchildren, Rodney, Brittany, and Jeremy; and her great-grandchildren, John and Koah.
She is also survived by her siblings: Otto Wharton, Barbara (George) Summers, Donnell Wharton, Timothy (Linda) Wharton, Richard (Constance) Wharton Jr., Troy Wharton, and Fay Wharton.
She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.
A service to celebrate Bobette’s life will be held at Union Grove Congregational Church, 5414 Hicone Road, McLeansville, North Carolina 27301 Friday, March 20, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. Family viewing and visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to come together to honor her memory and the love she shared with those around her.
Bobette will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Interment will follow in in the church cemetery.
