Anita Laverne (Young) Allen

GREENSBORO - Anita L. Allen, 67, passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Wesley Long Hospital.

A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at Equation Church, 901 Broad Avenue, Greensboro, NC. Public viewing will only be held at the church beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Interment will follow in Proximity Mills Cemetery, Greensboro, NC.

Anita was born in Greensboro, North Carolina on May 6, 1956.

Anita was one of the most thoughtful and caring people you could meet. She helped everyone; it didn’t matter if they were family or not. Anita was never going to let a person fall too hard. She put others before herself, which exemplified strength and courage that only YAH could provide to her.

She has finally been called back to the light, in the bosom of YAH. The best that anyone who loves her could do is to continue the path of YAH, in which she laid out a foundation. She was truly a woman of pure passion and believed that everyone just needed YAH’s love. Celebrate her in honor and let no tear be of sadness. Love her in spirit and we can all keep her alive.

Anita was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie, father, Elbert, and her son, Jay Jay Allen.

She is survived by her children, Jeremy, Tracy (Ugo), Travis, Tyrell and Sharell; brothers, Anthony and Jerome; sisters, Cherri, Cheryl, Angela and Brenda.
