Alesia "Lee-sa" Devonne Lamb

GREENSBORO – Alesia Devonne Lamb, 60, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at her residence.

Public viewing will begin on Friday, March 18, 2022 from 12 until 6 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 12 p.m. at Union Memorial United Methodist Church, 1012 E. Gate City Blvd., Greensboro, NC.  The family visitation and viewing will begin at 11 a.m.  Pastor Timothy Fitzgerald will deliver the words of comfort.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3901 Forest Lawn Drive, Greensboro, NC. 

“Lee-sa” as she was affectionately called was born in Raleigh, NC on February 7, 1962 to James Lamb Jr., and Viola Wright Lamb.

She received her bachelors of science degree from Suny College at Old Westbury, NY.

For many years she worked as a cab driver.  In her spare-time she enjoyed crabbing. 

She was a faithful member at Union Memorial UMC where she served as a senior usher, assisted with sound and technology, and often drove the church van for senior events.  She was a true missionary and loved caring for people.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Gordon R. Barwell and Steven Howard, Sr.

Survivors include siblings, Rev. Felicia Sophronia Barwell, Darlene Lamb-Howard and James D. Lamb, III (Angelia S. Vasquez); nieces and nephews, Omar Hardy, Kalimah V. Hardy, Gerard WL Barwell, Shawnell K. Howard, Devon R. Howard, Isaiah R. Howard, Omar R. Hardy, Jr., Audrey F. Lamb, James D. Lamb, IV, and Sanai D. Hardy; a host of relatives and friends.
