LINDEN, NJ - Robert Anthony Peoples, commonly known as Anthony or Tony, was born in Jersey City, NJ on April 4, 1954 to Barbara J. Peoples. Singing his final note on April 12, 2021, Anthony passed in Linden, NJ. Educated in the Guilford County School system, he graduated from Grimsley High School in 1972 and enlisted in the United States Army in 1974. He furthered his education by receiving a certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, and Low-Pressure Boiler. Mr. Peoples was employed as a Custodial Engineer at the Anshe Chesed Synagogue. Anthony was an avid photographer and deeply passionate about music. In 1981 he started the vintage R&B group, Choice - Jersey City's Bad Boys of Acapella. The group performed at many venues and received an award by the United Group Harmony Association. Known for jumping in his car or on a plane at a moment's notice, Anthony made it his business to reach out to people and would go anywhere when needed. He greatly loved and was beloved by his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a public visitation on Thursday, April 22, 2021, 10-11 a.m. from the Ocean Avenue Baptist Church, 735 Ocean Avenue, Jersey City NJ. Celebration of Life to follow. Interment Graceland Memorial Park, Kenilworth NJ.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at Genesis Baptist Church, 2812 E. Bessemer Avenue, Greensboro, NC.

If I am correct I went to school with Anthony at proximity school on Summit ave. Sorry to learn of his passing.
