GREENSBORO – Robert Bill Pulliam, 88, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at Guilford Health Care Center.

He was born in Franklin County, GA on May 15, 1932 to the late Georgia Pulliam.

He was a member of St. James Baptist Church for many years until his health declined.

In his spare time, he loved cutting the grass and at one time, owned his own lawn and tree service.  He also loved music, played the guitar and was a quartet singer.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by sons, Michael Pulliam and Theodis Phillips; sisters, Loraine Fortune and Grace Pulliam.

Survivors include spouse, Eva Massey Pulliam; children, Matress Savage (Ricky), Becky Miree, Cynthia Phillips, Sonja Walker (Randy) and Michael Phillips; daughter-in-law, Jean Pulliam; sister, Mary "Mageline" Crump;14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; special cousin, Maxine Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Public viewing will begin on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 12 noon until 6:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Home, 1024 Homeland Avenue, Greensboro, NC.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Piedmont Memorial Cemetery, 2716 McConnell Road, Greensboro, NC.  Pastor Deon Clark of Equation Church, Greensboro will preside and Bishop Bryan J. Pierce, Sr., pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro, Inc. will deliver the words of comfort.

Mrs. Pulliam, Sonya and Cynthia. I'm so sorry for your loss. I loved seeing Mr. Pulliam playing the Guitar and hearing him sing. We used to love him stopping by and visiting us in the church office. I will keep you and your family uplifted in prayer. He will truly be missed.
