To the family and friends of Dea. George W. Thomasson, please accept my sincere condolences regarding the passing of my friend and classmate. I met George in grade school, later graduating from Wm. Penn High School. After serving in the military we attended N C A&T where we both enrolled in a public speaking class. George was always respected for his strength and friendliness. Be confident in knowing that George is in a better place and that we shall meet again. May the peace of God be with you now and always.

George "Sonny" as I always called him was a Big Brother to me coming up at "The Y" on Fourth Street. He was one of the best pool players in the building and always talking "smack". But he would always take time to pull me to the side and give me one-on-one guidance on life and for those times I will be forever grateful. Brothers like him is the reason I mentor today. Sleep on my brother and enter your new chapter with The Ancestors. Family you have our prayers.

To: George’s family: So sorry to hear of George’s passing. Had the pleasure of meeting George when we were neighbors at Tall Oaks. A lot of good times filled with laughter. Later I ran across George when he worked as a Park Ranger at Lake Brandt and it was like neighbors all over filled with laughter. I pray that God comforts you doing this difficult time. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Chub!

Thomasson Family -
Deacon Thomasson was one of the first persons we met when we started coming to New Light. We will always remember his welcoming smile and he always had such a positive attitude. It was a joy to watch him as he performed labors of love around the church and how he never hesitated to serve others.

It is our prayer that beautiful memories will give you strength during this difficult time.

With Sympathy,

I was saddened to learn of George’s passing. He and I worked together at P&G and then I would see him all the time at Lake Brandt when he worked for the city. I kayaked on the lake there. George and I had some long discussions about history, the Bible, life in general. He always had a smile on his face and was always willing to lend a hand. His presence in life will be missed. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family.

Deacon Thomason will be missed and I am praying for the family. I had the opportunity to work with him during our thanksgiving basket giveaway and the Resource room. He was also a part of our family group. He was always fair and jovial.

Accept my condolences.
Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

My fondest memories was the years George spent at the YMCA. He was a mentor to all and assured we were safe.

I worked with George when I started at P&G, I think he had been there a few years. I liked him immediately, he was such a steady even tempered guy. There was always a lot of drama going around, but George never got involved in it or commented on it. In just a few weeks, he taught me a lot that helped me through the next 26 years. My thoughts and prayers are with the family now.
