GREENSBORO - Cornelius Randolph Jones, 68, passed away May 13, 2019 at Moses Cone Hospital.

He was born on October 4, 1950 to the late Jasper Jones and Rosabell Gooding Jones in Kinston, NC.

He graduated from Adkins High School, class of 1968.  While in school, he played football, baseball and ran track.  His love for sports also enabled him to coach basketball at Jackson Middle School.

During his lifespan, he sold real estate, cars and was a dispatcher for taxi.  He also delivered diabetic supplies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Furnie Jones and sisters, Jean Brown and Johnnie Bell Warren.

Survivors includes spouse, Minnie Jeanette Jones; sons, Leonardo Jovan Jones, Kellie Warren Jones and Jarrod Trevon Jones; brothers, Jasper Jones and Reggie Jones; sisters, Martha Strayhorn, Jackie Dupree and Carolyn Jones; grandchildren, Leonardo Jovan Jones II, Nicholas Young and Louren Seabrooks; uncle, Walter Jones, aunts, Ruth Gardener, Hilda Gardener, Corrina Gardener and Sutty Bell Gooding; aunt-in-law, Betty Wood; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held 12 Noon on Monday, May 20, 2019 at St. James Baptist Church, 536 W. Florida Street, Greensboro, NC.  The visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. and Pastor Jerome Lee will deliver the eulogy.

Cornelius and a few of our 1968 classmates of Adkin High School have been in attendance if many of our classmates homegoing services! He was a true grand supportive classmate. We will be there for him this time. We love you Sac and we miss you already ❤️❤️❤️
